Lincoln MKS for lease
Lincoln MKS THE MAGIC OF EcoBoost - When I tried this Lincoln when it was launched about two years ago, I was impressed by the car in general. I must say that her figure had not packed too much, but it was still much better than before, at least for a Lincoln. But what really impressed me is the overall homogeneity of the car both in terms of interior finish, quality materials, handling and performance.

Finally, speaking of performance, this is probably the only downside that I could bring to my trial. Indeed, the 3.7-liter V6 engine producing 276 horsepower well, but it was a bit tight for the size and category of the car. In addition, it did not use the full potential of this platform derived from the Volvo C80.
We were promised a Ford version of the famous with EcoBoost would be marketed in the months to come. The V6 engine is slightly less than the regular version since it is a 3.5 liter. By cons, it produces 80 more horsepower than the base engine, while fuel consumption is almost similar to the 3.7-liter engine. The secret of this famous EcoBoost engine is the use of two turbochargers that can benefit from a more than adequate power and reasonable fuel consumption. Or so we said Ford. The question is whether these allegations are true.
Being different is not a defect Taking place aboard the Lincoln, one is immediately confronted with a dashboard that resembles neither that of a German or a Japanese category. The design is American and I personally have nothing against that. The designers of the Lincoln division did not try to imitate anyone and focused to produce a truly distinctive instrument panel that will appeal to those who probably do not have a complex deal with Germanic and Japanese. Our test model saw the dashboard through from side to side by a silver metal band that gave contrast to the rest is all black. Note that the dashboard is covered with leather in the upper part with stitching that give the effect of hand-stitched. I do not know by what process elements are produced, but its luxury that I still have doubts about the linearity of certain seams. Note, in passing, the quality of assembly and materials, what the Americans we had not used since ancient times. In fact, the MKS appeared in 2007 was among the first to offer us a finish of this quality. The seats are comfortable, a little too sweet for my taste, but their lateral support is still correct. Interestingly for those who prefer their comfort, the front seats are heated and air conditioned while the rear seat is hot.
As is the custom now on some luxury cars, a huge glass roof is offered. In front, the roof retracts to allow front seat occupants to enjoy the sun and outdoor air. The people sitting in the rear seats have their window on the sky as well, but this window does not open. Fortunately, a cache can take shelter from the sun when Galarneau is the game. By cons, it reduces at least 4 cm headroom. Our test vehicle included a navigation system with voice control, a rearview camera and parking system which I will come back to active later.
In summary, we have made every effort to make this car model except that it is in terms of mechanics, and luxury finishing. Before concluding this chapter, Im a bit skeptical about the relevance of the keyboard placed on the B-pillar left that unlocks the door by entering a secret code. As long as you have a smart key, why not use it to unlock the door?
Fasten your seat belts In the past, large luxury sedans from the United States impressed by the power of their engines, the thickness of their carpets, the number of gadgets on board, but unfortunately for a ride scarier than impressive. Imprecise direction, roll pronounced bend, braking almost deficient, all of which pushed us to roll so cushy. If you still have this vision of the past, you are greatly mistaken. Moreover, I advise you to do a stretch of road behind the wheel of the Lincoln to get rid of your prejudices. But before hitting the road, I must emphasize that our test car was equipped with high beam adaptive type that swivel to better follow the road that passes in front of the car. Another gadget of note is the presence of mirrors with a truly unique small mirror embedded in the primary mirror to detect cars that are in the blind spot. Still on the detection mechanisms, the Lincoln has a presence detector back and side. This system is sometimes irritating in the parking lots of shopping centers when it emits a constant noise, but it can also save you serious drawbacks. Finally, do not forget the parking system asset that allows the car to park itself efficiently and fast. The mechanism developed by Ford makes it almost obsolete that proposed by the Lexus division of Toyota that is not only ineffective, but a slow disturbing. The version with EcoBoost is especially interesting because of the presence of the famous twin-turbocharged V6 engine that allows for truly impressive acceleration while it takes 6.1 seconds for 0-100 km / h. Expected with such a power to weight ratio, but what is even more impressive is that the braking distance of the meteor is really worthy of the best in its class. Even if the floor was cold and our vehicle with winter tires, we recorded a distance of 44 meters, which allows us to consider a shorter stopping distance in dry and warm with all-season tires.
Fortunately, this vehicle not only to move quickly in a straight line. Its cornering is impressive both in the balance that the almost total lack of roll. Management may be a tad less assisted, however. It should also give high marks to the six-speed automatic transmission even if I have to admit not having so used reporting shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Like all other such systems, their use is more or less episodic. The drive system fitted to the MKS can be run without trouble with a car of this power when the floor loses its grip. I must admit, moreover, that the voice control system as touted by Ford Sync leaves me indifferent. Not that the system does not work, but I have trouble talking to a pile of plates, even if electronic systems are very sophisticated. With its more powerful engine, its technological sophistication and a plethora of accessories, this Lincoln does not have to make complex to competition. Some of you will say that the regular version is ample, and I admit it. By cons, as the presence of EcoBoost V6 under the hood does not increase fuel consumption, or so little, we can still have fun and to enjoy the full potential of this sedan is not afraid of display its North American origins. If you believe that Americans are still in fact exceeded the design and production of cars, make a small turn at the wheel of the Lincoln and, thereafter, will do the same exercise at the wheel of a Lexus GS, for example, and you will be able to conclude that Americans are far from obsolete, quite the contrary! But perceptions die hard and it will certainly be difficult for Lincoln to convince people of the value of its products.
